ドゥルガーは、シヴァ神の神妃であり、パールヴァティーと同一視されているヒンドゥー教の女神であり、軍神でもあり、その名は「近づき難い者」を意味する。デーヴァ神族の要請によってアスラ神族と戦ったとされている。困難を取り除いてくれる神として崇められている。

Durga is the wife of God Shiva considered as another form of Parvati or mother goddess. And she is the warrior goddess. Her name means she is someone who is not easy to approach.
